Edit skills dialog box

This view gives you the big picture of all the standards and skills within each gradebook. From this single view, you can:

  • Import and view imported standards, skills, and skill assessment scales
  • Add and edit your own standards, skills and skill assessment scales
  • Assess students on all skills
  • View the skills that are addressed in each lesson plan
  • Access the Lesson Planner
  • Indicate you have completed instruction of a specific skill, including the date of completion and total instruction time given to the skill
  • Print standards and skills reports, including student assessment reports and mastery reports

Adding Standards

GradeQuick divides Skills into a two-tier hierarchy: Standards and Skills. The first step is to create the standards, which will then hold skills within them. If you do not need to use standards, you can skip this step and add all of your skills under the General standard.

To add a standard:

  1. Select Edit > Skills Information, or click the Edit Skills button on the Big Toolbar.

  2. Click the Add Standard button just below the toolbar.
  3. Enter the Standard Name, a short description and any teacher’s notes you would like to include.

You can also update a standards name, description, or notes. To edit a standard, do the following:

  1. Select Edit > Skills Information, or click the Edit Skills button on the big toolbar.
  2. Click the standard you want to edit.
  3. Edit the Standard Name, description or notes.
  4. Click another standard or click the Gradebook Spreadsheet button.

Deleting a Standard

If you no longer use a specific standard, you can delete it from your Skills Editor.

  1. Select Edit > Skills Information, or click the Edit Skills button on the Big Toolbar.
  2. Click the Standard you want to delete and click the delete button below the toolbar.

  • Teacher Notes - Add any personal notes regarding this skill in this field.
  • Skill Instruction Completed - Click this checkbox when you finish your instruction for this skill for the school year. Checking this box displays the Date Completed and Time Spent fields; complete these as needed.

If you later change a skills assessment scale, you can reset the students grades to the new scale default value, if any.

  2. Right-click the skill you want to delete and select Delete Skill from the pop-up menu, or click the skill you want to delete and click theDelete button below the toolbar.
