Remove Old Private Reports

A super user can quickly remove all grades and other private reports that have been posted to Edline. This option will remove PRIVATE reports posted to the school homepage and to all class/teacher webpages at once, but will not remove other, non-private documents (such as news items, calendar events, and assignments).

The instructions are slightly different for districts and schools that use a gradebook program.

If you are completing an end-of-year transition within Edline, you do not need to clear private reports from classes. If you use an Edline web-based gradebook products, GradeQuick Web or Easy Grade Pro Web, then setting Edline’s Currently Active Period to the new year will remove old private reports from view. If you do NOT use our web-based gradebook products, then Blackboard's recommended procedure of deleting the completed year’s class pages will also remove the private reports that had been posted to those pages.

How to Remove All Private Reports from the School Website

  1. Open the Modify School page by selecting Tools from the menu bar on the homepage, and then Manage School.
  2. Click Delete All Private Reports from the School Maintenance area.
  3. Click OK on the system prompt ensuring the report removal.

  3. Click Delete Selected Private Reports from the Manage Selected Items area.
  4. Click OK on the system prompt ensuring the report removal.

Remove Reports for Districts/Schools Using an Edline Gradebook Program

For users of Edline’s web-based gradebooks, GradeQuick Web and Easy Grade Pro Web, the Delete All Private Reports button will not exist on the Manage School page. Complete one of the following steps:

  • To delete all current private reports from class pages, follow the steps in the How to Remove Private Reports from Individual Classes topic.
  • To remove private reports originating from other products such as your Student Information System (SIS) or the Site Reporter product, locate the folders containing these reports in the Contents section of your school’s website, select the folders, and delete them. In most cases, the folders will be named with the name of the report. Reports from some SIS systems will be found in sub-folders within the Reports folder. Either delete the sub-folder or the Reports folder. The folders will be re-created when you post reports again in the future.

After you delete a private report, it cannot be recovered, but newer reports reflecting current data can be posted at any time.
