After students, teachers, and counselors complete the course request submission process, the school super user first disables additional requests, and then downloads the information for their Student Information System (SIS). Complete the download to create a file of the latest requests for your analysis or import by your SIS.
You can download this file as often as needed. When you create the download file, it contains all course requests for the current semester/year. It overwrites previous files you downloaded so it will not create duplications.
How to Download the Course Submission Requests
- From the menu bar on the homepage, select Tools, and then Manage Course Requests.
- From the Manage Course Requests page, click Download Requests to start the download process.
- Click Save on the Windows File Download dialog and save the file to your computer.
The system saves the file as a .crq file, which is an .xml file that can be opened in the Microsoft Excel® program. Certain SIS programs can import data directly from the .crq file. Other SIS programs require a .csv file, which can be created using the Edline Course Request Tool. The Edline Course Request Tool not only transfers the .crq file to a .csv file, but it also analyzes the data in the .crq file so you can keep track of which students or teachers have completed their tasks, what courses have been selected, and other information so you can prepare your course offerings and staffing earlier in the year. Contact Blackboard's Edline support to be sure you have the proper tool to process the downloaded requests.
- Click Done when finished.
