Best Practice: Web 2.0 Tools

Web 2.0 tools enable you to share information, interact with students, and collaborate in new ways. Examples include social networking, blogs, wikis, and video sharing. Learn about some of these innovative tools and how to integrate them in your Blackboard Learn course.

How to Integrate Web 2.0 Tools in Your Course

You can add most Web 2.0 tools into your course in a similar way. These steps outline the general process.

  1. Access the website for the Web 2.0 tool.
  2. Create the tool, presentation, or collaboration space.
  3. Locate the embed code. The code is usually available by clicking a link to Share or Embed the content.

  4. Copy the embed code.
  5. In your Blackboard Learn course, access a content area.
  6. Point to Build Content and select Item.
  7. On the Create Item page, type a Name.
  8. In the Content Editor, click the HTML icon File:en-us/Learn/9.1_SP_14/Instructor/090_Course_Content/Best_Practice_Web_2.0_Tools/HTML_button.png.
  9. In the HTML Code View window, paste the embed code and click Update.

  10. Click Submit. Check the embedded tool to be sure it works correctly for students.

If students are unable to see the content, it might a browser issue. Try modifying the URL within the embed code by changing http:// to  https://.
