Blackboard's help site aims to solve your problems and empower you to use Blackboard products to their fullest. Anyone can view the help content for any audience (student, instructor, or administrator) without having to log in.
How do I navigate the site?
Select the navigation menu below the help logo to view all the products, roles, and topics available on the help site.
Once open, select the plus sign next to an item to expand or collapse that section, and then select the product, role, or topic page you are looking for. The page you hover over or select appears purple while the page you are currently on appears bold when you reopen the menu.
To close the menu, select the large X.
How do I give feedback about the help site?
To provide feedback for a particular topic, copy the topic URL and send it in an email with your comments to firstname.lastname@example.org. This information goes directly to the Blackboard Content team. We'll do our best to read and respond to emails promptly, but please note, we are able to read and respond in English only.
Why can't I sign in to help.blackboard.com?
The ability to sign in is restricted to Blackboard writers and editors and a handful of client contributors who are authoring content. Other users will not be able to sign in. But don't worry—you don't need to sign in to see the content!
Can I get help in other languages?
Yes. Blackboard translates the help for some products into other languages. To view the help that is available in your language, select the Related Page in the upper right navigation from this page.
How do I find out what version I'm using?
If your site URL has the word "ultra" in it, you are using the Ultra experience of Blackboard Learn. Your school is using a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) deployment, which receives frequent updates and enhancements from our product development team.
If you see anything else, you are likely using the Original experience of Blackboard Learn. On your Blackboard site's login page, select Installation details at the bottom of the page.
- The Installation details identify the exact version of Blackboard Learn that you are using and list the capabilities that your institution licenses.
- 9.1.201404 indicates that this is the April 2014 update of Learn 9.1. The rest of the number identifies the particular build. Only administrators and Blackboard Support will be interested in this portion of the number.
How do I get help for earlier versions of Learn?
Help.blackboard.com hosts US English help for Learn 9.1 SP 10 and later. For all other languages, help.blackboard.com hosts help for SP 12 and later.
We also link to help for Learn 9.1 SP 6 through SP 9 in an older format on help-archives.blackboard.com. You can use the links in the following table.
You can also access the Help for Learn 9.1 SP 6 through SP 10 in additional languages by replacing the language code and vertical portion of the URL for the US English help for your version of Learn (EN-US/NAHE) with your 4-letter country code, such as FR-FR for French.
For Learn 9.1 GA through 9.1 SP 9, you can download the PDFs from the following table and host them locally. Select the desired language to download the complete PDF documentation package (ZIP). If the only language listed is English (en_US), the help was not translated for that version. In that case, you should download the help for the previous service pack.
