Mobile Learn online help enables you to troubleshoot problems on your own, or submit a question to Mobile Learn Support. You can access help in these ways:

How to Create Mobile-Friendly Courses

These quick tips help ensure that the content you publish in the Blackboard Learn environment integrates well with Mobile Learn. Access the links in the table for full explanations of these recommended practices.

  Mobile-Friendly Practice Tip
View Mobile Learn Access your course using Mobile Learn to see how your students will interact with the content you have created. Course access is possible when your course is in Available or Unavailable mode.
Design Content Use recommended file types for attachments:

Text files: PDF, DOC or PPT
Images: JPEG, GIF or PNG
Audio: MP3
Video: MP4

Rich content can include bold, italics, underline, strike-through text, images, URL links, headings, numeric lists, bullets, and block quotes.

Avoid Flash file formats. They are not supported on any iOS devices or some Android devices.


Avoid using tables and HTML and CSS customizations.

Course Tools

Students can receive push notifications on their mobile device for new announcements, grades, content items, tests, and course availability.


Always use the Mobile Compatible Test creator in Web Learn (the Blackboard Learn environment).


Utilize discussions, blogs, and journals as a way for students to interact with each other from any location.


Mobile compatible test questions include Calculated Numeric, Fill-in-multiple blanks, File Response, Hot Spot, Multiple Choice, Short Answer, and True/False.
