Known Issues

If the following resolutions do not solve your problem, please contact Mobile Learn Support.

Android Mobile Learn app can't establish a session with Learn SaaS sites via native authentication method

On the Android Platform, the Mobile Learn app is unable to establish a session when logging in to a Learn SaaS instance using the native login interface. Login appears to succeed, but the app ‘spins’ and a session is never presented.

As a workaround, the “Force to Web” (FWL) authentication method works as expected.

Error message "Mobile Learn may slow down your phone"

While using Mobile Learn on an iPhone, you might see the error message: “Mobile Learn May Slow Down Your iPhone. The Developer of this app needs to update it to improve compatibility.”

This message shows because Mobile Learn is a 32-bit application. This warning does not indicate a software malfunction. Starting with iOS 10, Apple prefers all released apps to be 64-bit applications. An update would require us to recode the Mobile Learn App. Since Bb Student and our other persona-based apps will be our go-forward applications, these apps are being updated to 64-bit.

Mobile assessments display " " for many space characters

This issue was recently identified to affect Q4 2015 and Q2 2016 instances.  The problem is present in the raw QTI data, but traditional web browsers and the Bb Student app do not display these.  More information coming soon.

Can't see my grades in the app

If you can see your grades in a course when logged in through your computer's web browser, then you should be able to see your grades from within the Mobile Learn app.  You should find "My Grades" under the "Tools" menu.

If you see an item within My Grades that is greyed out, that means there is no attempt or grade for the item.  If you see "In progress" for an item, that means there is an attempt that has not yet been graded.

If you have any questions about grade display in your courses, please contact your instructor for more information.

There is a known issue on iOS devices where sometimes the grade on the left shows as a "-".  This does not reflect a problem with the grade.  The score will still show below the assignment name.

Can't load course in the app

If one or more courses will not load in Mobile Learn, the issue is most likely with the mobile component on the Learn server.

On iOS, you will see "(no results)" when trying to access an effected course.

On Android, you will see "Data Error".

To resolve this, your institution's system administrator will need to update the Mobile Building Block.

Administrators: See the Mobile Web Services Release Notes

Can't post to group discussions in the app

If you are unable to post to any group discussions in any course, the issue is most likely with the mobile component on the Learn server.

To resolve this, your institution's system administrator will need to update the Mobile Building Block.

Administrators: See the Mobile Web Services Release Notes

If you are able to post to some group discussions but not all, please contact Mobile Learn Support.
